MAXIMUM VELOCITY EQUIPMENT
1) A Weighted Vest. It’s a great starting point at 8 pounds. Ensure it's not too bulky, which is super important when finding a weighted vest because you're going to be pitching with it on! I would recommend it be 8-12 pounds. Pitchers who have taken this course went a little more on the heavier side than the lighter side because you will get stronger as the course goes on.
2) Ankle Weights. Aim for 2-4 pounds...these you should be able to adjust the weights.
3) An 8-12 pound medicine ball! I wouldn't go higher than 12 pounds. Overall, if you’re trying to decide between poundage, I would go heavier rather than lighter. We are looking to challenge ourselves, get stronger, and GROW. And you do that by adding resistance, not taking resistance away.
Finally, remember that while you are spending money on this equipment below, remember that all 3 of these things are great, not just for pitching, but also awesome to enhance your strength workouts and make your legs stronger (which is an important part of gaining velocity)! Both Weighted Vest and Ankle Weights can also be incorporated into the provided strength workouts! You can use them in so many other ways! Can’t wait! Fly high!
NEED A RADAR?
I highly recommend getting a radar gun if you don’t already have one, so we can track your pitcher’s speed at the beginning and end. It’s great for practices, of course, but also great for tracking how the speed translates in-game.
I love the Pocket Radar! You can use my code PitchingAngel10 for 10% off!

HERE WE GO!
Here are a few things I recommend doing first...
1. Make sure you have supportive shoes
2. Radar yourself.
3. Get a journal.
4. Video yourself.
Also...don't forget about the equipment I have mentioned:
- Weighted Vest: go as heavy as you think you can go!)
- Ankle Weights (can find them at Target/Walmart)
- We'll be using the Bosu Ball again.
- 8-12 pound med ball
** The weightiest vest size is what appeals to me most. If you purchase a different one, make sure it's not bulky. I liked how this one was a bit thinner.
